error number: 0x800c0133” Outlook Express

When you try to send or receive messages using Outlook Express, you may receive error message as below.

"An unknown error has occurred. Account: 'Example', Server: 'example.mail.domain.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure (SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800C0133 "

SYMPTOMS

All the mail disappear
Unable to download emails
E-mail message could not be sent.
CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the Folders.dbx file is missing, damaged, or using the read-only attribute. Usually it will happen at inbox.dbx.

To remedy

Try to restart the computer, if the problem persists, please follow the following steps.

Rename

the Inbox.dbx file:

Go to “Tools” > “Options” > “Maintenance” tab > Click “Store Folder”. It will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files.
Close Outlook Express, goto the location mentioned above. You may copy the location and paste it in the “Start” > “Run” and click “Ok”.
Rename “inbox.dbx” to “oldinbox.dbx” or name that you prefer.
Restart the Outlook Express, This creates a new inbox.dbx file automatically.

Recovery old emails

You may recover back the old emails by try the following, if they are not corrupt or damage.

In Outlook Express, right click on the local folders icon in the folder list.
Click on New Folder, named it to “Old Inbox”.
Search for oldinbox.dbx.
The old emails should be inside the oldinbox.dbx right now.

how do i move the messages into the new 'old inbox' folder ive created? not sure where to search
and if i could,. what to do to make them miraculously appear in the folder:)

Some days ago I synchronised my contacts on computer with mobile,and unexpectedly all my contacts on PC was deleted.But accidentally in inet I found-outlook express extract dbx.Software has free status as far as I remember,it recover my contacts.In addition program can likewise epair messages from all folders and extract .dbx files.

Thank you so much for your help & I was able to get my incoming emails going again. The "search" option is available for the "oldinbox.dbx" but I'll play with it to see if I can get them back. If not, at least my new emails are coming in & I thank you again for your posting help.

I am a Microsoft Outlook user. Few days ago, I got an error in outlook. I was unable to open outlook. I tried Inbox repair tool to fix outlook file, but it could not help me. After that I contacted with Repair Outlook PST file. They are Outlook pst expert, they repaired my pst file.

Today I was in net and downloaded a lot of tools. But after I opened my MS Outlook and understood that some of my mails were deleted. Fortunately myself helped one of those utilities - outlook message viewer. It decided problem in seconds and without payment.I was very lucky.

This day I woke up and sat at the PC. But I was shocked because of I didn't surface my emails. To my good fortune I choose a struggle and entered the Inet. I by chance revealed there - dbx repairing tool. And it solved my problem quite easy and without my money. I have been shocked now...

I renamed the inbox.dbx file to oldinbox.dbx and restarted OE but I'm still getting the same error... Any other options?

I got till: 'Click on New Folder, named it to “Old Inbox”.

Then you said: 'Search for oldinbox.dbx.'

Search WHERE?????

The old emails are inside the oldinbox.dbx. But how do I get them back into Outlook???

Edmund import old inbox and all mail copy to new inbox.just try it....
